Located on the eastern flank of the Anambra Coal Basin, and occupy an area of approx. 66,300ha. The main coal seam crops out along the foot of the Enugu Escarpment.

Exploration

9 holes have been drilled in the coal block.
Resource amenable to underground mining utilising long wall and with surface contour mining along the outcrop.
Coal thickness ranges from 0.71 to 2.11m and averages 1.43m.
The coal quality averages 25.35MJ/kg (6,055Kcal/Kgor 10,900Btu), 5.95% ash and 0.50% sulphur.
