Exploration Report One of the main objectives of this mapping exercise was to determine the viability of the project area and subsequently delineate prospective areas with prospective structures and mineral occurrences for further investigations. The most interesting rock units encountered during the mapping exercise were the quartz veins that intruded the meta-sedimentary rocks. Quartz veins have been known to be the major host or control of most metallic mineralizations such as gold, silver, copper, manganese etc. in the schist belts of Nigeria. The quartz veins observed in this project area appear to have been highly altered, and deformed after their emplacement. This implies that they have also undergone orogenic deformation that affected the host rock resulting into faulting and fracturing of the duo. Once a rock is faulted or fractured, channels are created for hot hydrothermal fluids, which are probably rich in metals to flow through the faults, fractures and joints. $0.00 Add to cart
